Los Volcanes Nature Park, together with Timanfaya National Park, are protected areas which represent the recent and historical volcanism of Lanzarote because they are covered by the spectacular eruptions that took place from 1730 to 1736 and in 1824. All the volcanic structures in the area are well preserved due to Lanzarote’s arid climate; the landscape is like a huge open-air museum of volcanology.
